Spring Decor 2016 . i wanted to share with you today how i turn my winter decor into something right and springy most of what i have here was just actually left over from our decor didn’t actually go out and do anything special but I’m just really tired of looking at how monotone it was and so I decided to go out and find some right things to make our home a little bit happier to get started I’ve got to really easy cheap DIYs from the dollar tree and this first one is a springtime floral laws that you can make ridges three dollars so here we have this miniature glass carafe that i found a pathology.
I found it next to where they keep the decorative pebbles and stones and sort of other oil supplies but what i’m doing here is starting out by pouring a little water based paint into the carafe and my husband had an idea rubber banding some saran wrap over the opening to keep any paint from dripping out and it works really well so I would definitely recommend this step but if you paint the inside of a clear balls and so the outside it gives you a really nice glossy book instead of the more matte finish you get when you paint the outside the finished look actually reminds me a lot of milk glass but the paint i used in case you’re curious was the brand bear and the color frosted Jade it’s a really nice light sort of aqua color very very late and i purchased this small sample size for another project but you really only need a little bit to coat the inside of the boss.
Spring Decor 2016 | Cheap Dollar Tree DIY Ideas
So I just use a little bit of our leftover paint and once the base is coded make sure you let it dry upside down to drain the excess paint this is pretty important because you don’t want to end up with a puddle of the bottom of your face it doesn’t dry and also keep in mind that you won’t be able to use this space for fresh flowers only synthetic because of course the paint is water based so it’s got to be used with synthetic flowers so that is it it’s super easy only takes a few minutes to work the paint around and a little while to let it dry but once you’re done you just need to add your flowers and you’ve got yourself a pretty little accent piece and next up is probably the easiest DIY I’ve ever done and it’s only four dollars total cost of the project so here we have three little milk bottles to start with and I found these actually right next to that graph that i showed you earlier and so you basically take one bunch of the cosmos flowers that the dollar tree cells and snip the ends with your wire cutters so that you have six stems and you go ahead and kind of arrange the pedals a little bit and then bend the stems so that you get the flowers looking the way you want them to and they finish off the look i’m just going to add this printable inside of frame that I DIY from a good will find and then on the side and just going to stick this candle here that is given to me by a sweet friend so there you have it so next up is something that I think it’s great to do because it gets you outside gets you breathing so nice fresh air and you can go pretty much anywhere and find something that’s pretty to stick in a cause or in my case this is actually my creamer but my husband and I really just took a walk and I found some of these pretty pink flowers and we went ahead and clip them and took them home and they’re a little bit messy but I think they’re gonna have a neat look very bright and springy so wide-ranging definitely takes a little bit of patience to get things the way you want them to especially when you’re dealing with just wild flowers it’s kind of a little crazy and sometimes it seems like it gets worse before it gets better but eventually if you keep clipping and and just fixing playing with it usually get something that you like and I’m pretty happy with the latest turned out and the best part is it’s totally free so just to keep it real I’m having this clip in because this arrangement makes me laugh every time.
I walk by it is such a mass and so while but hey that’s half the fun night with a sore head so here’s the finished display I have for my spring decor it’s on my makeshift sideboard this frame held a printable that I found online and i’ll link to that below and i just think it looks really fresh and bright and then these two little candle holders were actually from Pottery Barn we had a $25 gift certificate from our wedding so we decided that we would go ahead and spend the money and I found these really pretty mosaic candle holders and all i have are those tea lights so I want to have stuck those inside but I’m here we have the finished drawers with the flowers from the dollar tree this was just one stem flowers plus I think maybe one other little stem from the but another bunch i went ahead and i also got these eggs at the pottery barn that we went to and on the gift card they were on sale so it was a great price but they look so pretty I thought and I basically just grabbed a handful of crass dry grass and twisted it up and stuck it on top of some moss that I pulled up out of the ground grabbed a couple pieces of birch bark and just sort of arranged it and it was super easy if it looks really really good the amount of time I put into it next to that I put a little plate that says trip on it has a picture of a little bird and the rest of the flowers that were left over from that bunch on top of a really pretty dish towel that a friend bought and then made the lace on the end and then this photo i replace the frame and picture that were here before but this is from our engagement shoot three days before our wedding last year and there’s my little butter dish I just kind of fell in love with it at home goods.
When we first got married and it’s going to be sweet little bird on it and these are some of the particulars and it all just goes together pretty well that very light blue and white so up here is the reason i made i buy all the flowers from the dollar tree and the frame from the goodwill so you can see how i did that in more detail if my last video and really pretty easy to do so you might want to check it out up this is another photo from the same shoot in a similar frame and here is my little cabinet that I had put some more dollar tree flowers and I have this little galvanized pot left over from a lavender plant that a friend gave him last year and I like the way they look very bright and against the white background of the cabinet and I just stuck them all inside and not the one sitting next to it and then up here i have a bowl that actually held the flowers from our your head table at our wedding and another dish towels up some friends that I was on teams protective purposes and our own back in rings and then I just put the rest of the eggs that came in the package in there because it wasn’t really sure what to do with them but yeah this is also on that cabinet underneath on the show and it’s a print from grace least that a friend gave me so altogether i spent a grand total of twenty dollars on my spring decor for everything they showed you hi huh use gift cards for a couple things and then brought some stuff at goodwill the dollar tree and just really use a lot of what i had already on hand and it was really fun repurposing things and just making things look different than they have in the past by just moving them to a new area or putting things next to them that were not there before and I don’t think i mentioned before about that watering can that we use is actually from ikea and it’s really only a few dollars so if you’re looking for one for a great deal
